FitViz Member — White-label Fitness App
A Flutter member app for iOS and Android: workouts with rest timers, QR check-in, live gym traffic, progress photos, hydration and push notifications — white-labelled per gym.
Challenge
Gym members expect an app, but a small studio can’t build one. FitViz needed a member app that every gym could ship under its own brand, all running on the same FitViz backend.
Process
- One codebase, many brands. Flutter build flavours produce the FitViz and K2 Fitness apps, each with its own icons, name and App Store/Play listing.
- 19 feature modules. Dashboard, workouts and workout log, attendance history, classes, subscriptions, achievements, progress and progress photos, hydration, wellness, health sync, inbox, gym traffic and feedback.
- Details that matter at the gym. A rest timer that keeps running when you switch apps and notifies you when it’s done. Live gym-traffic bars so members can avoid peak hours. Formatting for workout text written by trainers.
- v2 redesign. A dark, lime-accent design system with a shared shell and a custom icon set. It follows a design spec I wrote (colour tokens, type roles, spacing and component states across 12 screens).
- Shipping. Codemagic CI/CD builds and signs the iOS and Android releases. 100+ commits and several versions released.
Outcome
Members of FitViz gyms check in, follow their plans and track progress from their phones. Gym owners can switch individual features (like Gym Traffic or Workout Plans) on or off for each gym from the FitViz Super Admin.
